What residents have told us during 2024.
Based on the consultation so far and the results of structural surveys, we understand the key issues to be:
Recurring anti-social behaviour with areas on the estate known to attract drug abuse and fly-tipping.
Some properties are mouldy.
There is a widespread pest and vermin issue.
Some residents are experiencing overcrowding and have said the property is not fit for purpose.
Some homes are poorly insulated.
The stairways are steep and can become unsafe, especially when it is raining.
There are issues with car parking, with non-residents currently parking on the estate.
Some residents have spoken about a loss of community spirit on the estate.
The top 6 key issues reported to MTVH from October 2023 to August 2024 were:
General Enquires – 67 reports

Structural Surveys
MTVH appointed surveyors FFT to undertake a visual, non-intrusive condition survey of the building structure of each block to establish the general condition, confirm the state of repair and to provide any recommendations for further investigations.
The summary report provides an overview of the repairs and investment requirements of the estate in its current condition, the short-medium term and long term based on the assumption the existing estate is used in its current arrangement.
The results of the survey suggests that the estate is in a declining condition, and significant investment in major component renewals will be required over the next 10 years.
